The short version: We collect only what we need to run the app. We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing contact@getmacrosnap.com.

Section 01
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use the Services, information generated when you use the app, and limited technical information required to operate the platform.
Account information: Email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never store plain-text passwords).
Profile and health data: Information you enter during onboarding, including age, height, weight, activity level, dietary goals, and calorie targets. You are never required to enter this data — it exists only to personalize your experience.
Food logs: Nutritional records (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat) for meals you log. When you use the AI scanning feature, the photo is transmitted to our AI provider for analysis and is not stored on our servers after processing. Only the resulting nutritional summary is saved to your account.
Usage data: Timestamps of app sessions, features accessed, and subscription status. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs that build behavioral profiles.
Payment data: Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We never receive or store your payment card information.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build profiles to sell to third parties. We do not use your health or nutrition data for any purpose beyond delivering the service you signed up for.
Section 03
MacroSnap uses artificial intelligence, powered by Anthropic's Claude, to analyze food photos and generate meal plans. When you scan a food item, the image is sent securely to Anthropic's API for processing. The image is not stored by us after the response is received.
Anthropic's use of data transmitted through the API is governed by their own privacy policy. MacroSnap does not permit Anthropic to use your data to train its models under our API agreement.
Section 04
We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: We share data with companies that help us operate MacroSnap, including Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI analysis), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Each provider is bound by data processing agreements that restrict how they may use your data.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MacroSnap, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: If MacroSnap or RANDM LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. You will be notified via email and a prominent notice in the app before any transfer occurs.
We have never sold personal information to any third party and have no plans to do so.
Section 05
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will permanently delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial records related to subscription payments).
Section 06
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption for all data in transit and encryption at rest for stored data via Supabase's infrastructure. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take data protection seriously and work to apply best practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Section 07
MacroSnap is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with their personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Section 09
MacroSnap does not respond to Do-Not-Track browser signals because we do not engage in cross-site tracking in the first place. We have no interest in tracking your activity outside of our own app.
Section 10
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, send a notification via email or in-app alert. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
